Thankfully I grew up with a lot of touch. Big family. Open arms. I remember being held and carried a lot as a child and oh my, I love touch.
Already trained in Ayurveda Massage in 2006 and practicing and really being stunned by the power of touch… one meeting, with one person, changed the course of the way I understood touch and changed the entire course of my life.
Lesvos, Summer 2008. Half way through @acroyogaTeacher Training we were introduced to a guest teacher, Krishnatakis. He visited for the day, with his wonderful, mystical partner @kerysangha and their two young kids.
When he demoed what we were about to learn and practice, it was already done. I was hooked and I knew, this person would play a significant role in my life. There was a depth and connection in his presence and approach to touch that is incomparable to this day. An attunement, playfulness, freedom, intuition, precision, that absolutely captured every layer of my being. I wanted to learn. From this person. As much as I possibly could. And I did.
From Beginner trainings to advanced trainings, from being a student to being an assistant from learning @sunshinehousegr to learning at the @thaimassagecircuswhere I was introduced to all the other absolutely brilliant and inspiring teachers like @lulyani_school@osteothai_official @gwynzenthai @ammakaline Kuhn Ni, Jack Chaya and so many others… I could not get enough. I went again and again, to develop my hands, my heart, my perception and understanding.
I went to study with a pregnant belly, I got married at the circus, I gave birth to my first daughter @sunshinehousegr(this is the story of yet another post…) I went to study and assist with my daughters in the sling. I gave treatments with a pregnant belly, and with my daughters next to my receivers.
The passion for this practice, the depth, the connection, the co-regulation of nervous systems, the healing capacity, the Sangha, the joy, the shared practice, the bond fires, the steam baths, the foooood, omg the fooooood, the friendships, the life lessons, the education, the unlearning, the ocean, the bond, the shared vision of a better world and shared efforts to actually to actually really join forces to heal… one touch at a time… forever grateful.
For all the beacons of light walking this wonderful planet, being the torch bearers of these ancient practices and the joint perspective of a common humanity that links the infinite web of fascia through mindful touch.
It is one of the biggest gifts received and one of the most potent practices to experience true content, enoughness, belonging.
One of the most powerful tools received. After 18 years of studying and working professionally with touch I’m continuously amazed and astonished by it‘s power and healing capacity. It‘s beyond words. Literally.
To remove the issue from the tissue has presented itself to be the most sustainable path to contentment, health, forgiveness, peace, alignment and clarity.
I could go on. Forever.
For now I remain in deep gratitude for all the heartfelt connections made on the path of touch. For all the wonderful souls showing up in these pics and all the ones I have touched but not photographed: thank you, for touching my life in such wonderful ways. I love you. I see you. You art matters. It touches… beyond words!
