5/10 TOUCHED.

Thankfully I grew up with a lot of touch. Big family. Open arms. I remember being held and carried a lot as a child and oh my, I love touch. Already trained in Ayurveda Massage in 2006 and practicing and really being stunned by the power of touch… one meeting, with one person, changed the course of the way I understood touch and changed the entire course of my life.Lesvos, Summer 2008. Half way through @acroyogaTeacher Training we were introduced to a guest teacher, Krishnatakis. He visited for the day, with his wonderful, mystical partner @kerysangha and their two young kids. When he demoed what we were about to learn and practice, it was already done. I was hooked and...

4/10.MOVED.

Me: „Hey, do you have some tips for my handstand? I’m practicing and trying now for 4 years.“ @jasonnemer : „You want to do a hand to hand?“@germanyogaconference 2006. @acroyoga was just born and Jason came to Cologne to assist @dharmayoganyc at his classes… all of which I attended. It was the second Yoga Conference Germany and the first international yoga event I attended. And it BLEW MY MIND. My initial yoga teacher training and all further studies had been at an Ashram. 3/10.FOUND.

Fierce. Is the number one attribute that was associated with my character / persona for ever since I can remember. Strong willed, fiery, determined, persistent. My younger daughter has similar features and oh boy, she‘s a Valhalla of a kind. In moments I‘m at my edge my grandma reflects back at me with that knowing, grounded smile only elders have: here goes the karmic circle.Parenting / accompanying me must have been a hell of ride. - Thank you mum, grandma, and most of my teachers, you‘ve done a GREAT JOB - Always digging deeper. Always wanting to go to the root. Never settling for less. Always digging and seeking the truth. Tirelessly. Some people say the truth sets you free....

2/10.DEATH

Writing this post today feels appropriate somehow. The US has voted Trump. Germany is about to pass a law heavily restricting free speech. Gaza is being continuously, indiscriminately, bombed for over a year. Apartheid, occupation, besieging, oppression, war crimes…Gut wrenchingly painful, super liberating. Liberating from delusion…25th of December in 2001. I’m 17. Hallucinating in fever, shivering, refusing to go to the doctor. We had a Florida vacation planned. And oh my, how I wanted to go!I had already started Yoga two years back. Well, my mum signed me up to counter the weed consumption and help ease my perfectionism. I loved the practice. Every Wednesday I was intrigued. By the power of the body-mind connection. Every Wednesday night I was...
